Workflows For Organising Products with Tags

For experienced users who need a fast reference.


Prerequisites

  • Access to HQ (Head Office system)
  • Manager permissions or higher
  • Plan for your category structure

Quick Steps: Set Up Product Tags

Method 1: Create Top-Level Category

Go to Products > Product Tags

Click Here For Workflow
  1. Click + Add Tag button (top right)
  2. Enter tag name
  3. Leave Parent Tag blank
  4. Select Print Header (optional)
  5. Click Save

πŸ’‘ Tip: Level 1 tags = major divisions (REPORTING, GST, RETAIL)


Method 2: Add Subcategory

Go to Products > Product Tags

  1. Click on parent tag
  2. Click + button next to tag name
  3. Enter new tag name
  4. Parent is auto-selected
  5. Select Print Header (optional)
  6. Click Save

βœ… Best practice: All sales reporting tags should be children of REPORTING tag

Key concepts:

  • Parent tag: Tag above (Food is parent of Breakfast)
  • Child tag: Tag below (Eggs is child of Breakfast)
  • Branch: All tags below a parent

Quick Example: Pizza Restaurant Setup

Step 1: Create Main Categories

Under REPORTING, add:

  • Pizza
  • Sides
  • Desserts
  • Drinks

Step 2: Break Down Pizza

Under Pizza, add:

  • Traditional
  • Gourmet
  • Gluten Free

Step 3: Organize Drinks

Under Drinks, add:

  • Soft Drinks
  • Beer
  • Wine

Step 4: Assign Print Headers

  • Pizza tag β†’ “KITCHEN” Print Header
  • Drinks tag β†’ “BAR” Print Header

🚨 Must have REPORTING and GST Level 1 tags - Required by system
