In Paimnt there are currently two types of prints you can configure. In this section we will summarize the differences between the two.

Receipt Prints

Receipt prints are prints that are made from the POS during or after a sale. They are manually created using either the “Start Print” keyboard function on a keyboard button or using the “Print Receipt” button on the “Order View” component. Receipt prints are only represented in the HQ by their templates which can be defined per organisation, site, location, or locally on the POS itself.

Docket Prints

Docket prints are prints that are automatically made after a sale and are normally printed to a kitchen. These prints are made based on a printer set in the HQ. This printer has settings that control where and when a docket print should be made as well as the template to use for the print itself.

Templates

You might have seen the rambling about templates and ask yourself, what exacly are they? Templates are Paimnt’s way of knowing how to format a receipt. They’re much too complicated to describe with justice here so I highly recommend you read this before anything else.
