Product Fields

Name
This is the name of the product. It is the main identifier seen by the user in the database. Most default sorting uses the name and sorts alphabetically. Be aware of this when setting up naming conventions.

Example

If you have a small and large size of your coffees, where you put the size will affect the order.

Putting the size at the end gives you :

  • Cappuccino Small
  • Cappuccino Large
  • Flat white Small
  • Flat White Large
  • Latte Small
  • Latte Large

Putting the size at the beginning gives you:

  • Small Cappuccino
  • Small Flat White
  • Small Latte
  • Large Cappuccino
  • Large Flat White
  • Large Latte
Short Name
Can be used in your Docket Prints
Description
This field is not currently used. It will be for a more detailed description of the product that can be displayed to customers or staff.

Example

A thin crust pizza with pepperoni, onion, mushrooms, sauce, and cheese

Instructions
This field is not currently used. It will be for preparation instructions that can be printed or displayed to staff.

Example

Eg 30ml dark rum, 1 scoop vanilla ice cream, fill with creamy soda, finish with raisins. The perfect Carlos Sultana”

Notes
This field is not currently used. It will be for extra details on the product that can be seen in HQ, printed, or displayed to staff.
Delivery Quantity
This is the common quantity that you receive when you order from your supplier.

Example

Eg If you order your Coke cans in cartons of 24, the delivery quantity for you Coke can product is 24.

Reporting Quantity
  • Linked to Unit of Measure.
  • the size of the product that you want to record and allows reporting of quantity sold.

Example

Eg A can of coke is set to a quantity of 375 with a unit of measure of mL. A glass of wine is set to a quantity of 150 with a unit of measure of mL.

Unit of Measure
Linked to Reporting quantity
  • Use the drop down list to set the type of measurement for the reporting quantity. Eg 750ml, 2kg

  • Set to none for items counted in whole units. Eg 1 garlic bread, 1 coffee.

Size Modifier
  • Linked with Parent
  • Used to link multiple sizes of the same product together so that you can switch between different sizes with a single button press on the till.

Example

Set up coffees with a large and a small size.

The small coffees use a small modifier and the large coffees use a large modifier. The small coffees are put onto the keyboard as a button for each product, but there is a single ‘large’ ‘select modifier size’ button set up.

To order a large flat white, press the small flat white button and press the ‘large’ modifier size button.

Parent
  • Linked with Size Modifier
  • Set all the different size products with the same parent product to link all the sizes together.

Example

In the above example of small and large coffees, for each type of coffee the small and large products should have the same parent.

Latte Large and Latte Small can be set to a parent of Latte Large to work.
