Having issues with Rear Screen or DAS? Find solutions to common problems below.
Rear Screen Issues
Problem: Ad is not appearing on the Rear Screen
All five scheduling conditions must be true simultaneously. Check each one:

| Current time is within the daily time window | Edit the ad — verify Daily Start Time and End Time |

| This till is at a selected location | Edit the ad — verify Specific Locations |
Problem: Ad changes are not showing on screen
Cause: The Rear Screen refresh cycle (~30 seconds) has not completed yet.
Fix: Wait 30 seconds, or log into the till to force an immediate refresh.
Problem: Rear Screen is still showing an expired campaign
Cause: The ad was not deactivated after the campaign ended, or the End Date was not set.
Fix: Deactivate the ad from the dashboard. For future campaigns, always set an End Date so the ad stops automatically.
Problem: Cannot upload an ad image
Cause: The image is not in JPG format.
Fix: Convert the image to JPG before uploading. PNG, GIF, BMP, and other formats are not accepted.
Problem: Ad appears at wrong times
Cause: Daily Start Time or End Time is misconfigured.
Fix: Edit the ad and verify the Daily Start Time and End Time settings.
Problem: Ad shows on the wrong days
Cause: Days of Week selection is incorrect.
Fix: Edit the ad and verify which days are selected.
Problem: Ad shows at the wrong locations
Cause: Location assignment is missing or incorrect.
Fix: Edit the ad and verify the Specific Locations setting.
Problem: Ad rotation is off across all locations
Cause: Ad Rotation may be disabled in Organisational Settings.
Fix: Profile icon > Organisational Settings > Ad Rotation > enable Enable Ad Rotation.
DAS Issues
Problem: DAS device is not showing any content
Cause: Device is not paired, the connection was lost, or no schedule is assigned.
Fix:
- Verify device pairing in Paimnt HQ > Site > Devices
- If the device shows as disconnected, re-pair it using a new pairing code
- In the Devices tab, confirm at least one schedule is assigned to the device
Problem: DAS ads are not appearing at the scheduled times
Cause: Schedule timing is wrong, or the site timezone is incorrectly configured.
Fix:
- Check the schedule time restrictions in the Schedules tab
- Verify the site timezone in Till Settings > Settings > Business Details > Timezone
Problem: Wrong ads are displaying during a meal period
Cause: Schedule conflicts, or schedules are assigned to the wrong device.
Fix:
- Open the Devices tab and check which schedules are assigned to the device
- Check that the active schedule’s time window matches the intended meal period
- Look for overlapping schedules on the same device — if two schedules cover the same time window, both may attempt to display simultaneously
Problem: An ad is displaying for the wrong duration
Cause: The ad’s Display Duration is incorrectly set.
Fix: Edit the ad in the Ads tab and update the Display Duration field.
Problem: Cannot assign an ad tag when creating an ad
Cause: No tags have been created yet.
Fix: Create the tag first — Ads tab > filter toggle (top right) > + Add Tag. Return to the ad form and the tag will be available.
Problem: A schedule is not appearing on the device
Cause: The schedule has not been assigned to the device.
Fix: Open the Devices tab > Edit the device > under Available Schedules, add the schedule and save.
Problem: A newly created ad or schedule is not showing in the list
Cause: The UI has not refreshed yet.
Fix: Click the refresh button next to the + Create Ad or + Create Schedule button.
