How to Add Products to a Sale
There are four different ways to add products - choose whichever is fastest for your situation.
Method 1: Product Buttons (fastest for common items)
When to use this: For frequently ordered items that have their own button on your grid.
- Click or tap the product button
- The product appears in the Order View
To add multiple: Type the quantity on the number pad, then press the product button.
Example: Customer orders 3 beers → Type “3” → Press the “Beer” button → “3x Beer” appears in the order
💡 Tip: This is the fastest method for items you sell all the time - like coffee, beer, or popular dishes.
Method 2: Search for a Product (best for large menus)
When to use this: When you can’t find the product button or for items ordered less frequently.
⚠️ Important: You’ll need an “Open Search” function button added to your keyboard first.
- Click the “Open Search” button on your keyboard
- A search box appears at the top of the screen
- Type part of the product name (e.g., “marg” for “Margherita Pizza”)
- Products matching your text appear in a list below
- Press the product you want from the list
To cancel the search: Click the X in the search box or press ESC on your keyboard.
💡 Tip: You only need to type a few letters - the search will find matches even if you type “chees” instead of “cheeseburger”.

Method 3: Scan a Barcode (fastest for packaged goods)
When to use this: For bottled drinks, packaged snacks, or retail items with barcodes.
- Make sure no windows or menus are open on the till
- Scan the product’s barcode
- The product is added to the sale automatically
💡 Tip: Keep your scanner close by if you sell a lot of bottled or packaged items.
Method 4: Increase Quantity of an Item Already in the Order
When to use this: Customer wants another of something already on their order.
- Tap the product in the Order View to select it
- Press the + button at the bottom of the Order View
- The quantity increases by 1 (along with all its instructions if any)
Example: Customer has 1x Coffee in their order, decides they want 2x → Tap “Coffee” line → Press + button → Line changes to “2x Coffee”
If the product has instructions attached (like “No sugar” or “Extra hot”), those instructions will be copied to the new item automatically.
How to Remove Products from a Sale
Made a mistake or customer changed their mind? You have three ways to remove items.
🚨 Heads up: If you remove a product line that shows “2x”, “3x”, etc., it will remove ALL of those items at once, not just one.
Method 1: Clear Item Button (works from anywhere)
When to use this: Quick removal without touching the screen.
⚠️ Important: You’ll need a “Clear Item” function button added to your keyboard first.
- Tap the product in the Order View to select it
- Press the “Clear Item” button on your keyboard
- The product is removed
Method 2: Order View Quantity Buttons (best for adjusting quantities)
When to use this: When you want to reduce quantity one at a time.
- Tap the product in the Order View to select it
- Press the – button at the bottom of the Order View
- If the line shows multiples (2x, 3x), quantity reduces by 1
- When only 1x remains, the – changes to a bin icon
- Press the bin icon to delete the line completely
💡 Tip: This method is perfect when a customer says “actually, just 2 beers instead of 3” - you can reduce the count without deleting everything.
Method 3: Swipe to Delete (fastest on touchscreens)
When to use this: Quick deletion on tablets or touchscreen tills.
- Swipe left on the product line in the Order View
- A red bin icon appears on the right
- Tap the bin icon to remove the product
💡 Tip: This gesture feels natural on tablets and is faster than hunting for buttons.
